Rallycross Grand Prix

The rain stayed away but a very muddy Croft hosted the Rallycross Grand Prix. All of the finals provided some great racing, and much better performances from the drivers than at the Rallycross meeting at Mallory Park earlier in the year.

Detail from a Map

I have always found maps fascinating, and being able to use old maps in the modern day is a guilty pleasure of mine I guess. Here is a detail from an old map from 1962 of the Buxton and Matlock area which I use when out in the Peak District.

The Old Man from Timor

The statue of an old man from Timor looks down over us as we sleep. Yes......Odd! I was trying out the idea of low key lighting which I hope to try and use in some portraiture in the future.

Closer than Close

Some super close up details from some old bank notes.

Slow Worm

A very difficult little character to take a shot of, he kept hiding from the light, and as soon at the camera locked focus, he decided to wriggle off somewhere different.

Clumber Park Fungi

Yes........... More mushrooms from a sunday afternoon walk in Clumber Park.

More Mushrooms

A walk through the woods yielded a few more mushrooms, quite a lot had gone past, it seemed also like quite a few brand new ones yet to grow. Managed a couple of decent shots despite.

Hospitalisation

A long time since I had tried any night time shots, so on the way back from the supermarket one evening, I thought to try out a couple of shots at the recently renovated hospital in Mansfield.

Masters Historic Racing - Donington Park

Some of the other series from yesterday at Donington. I went for a different approach at Donington, choosing to shoot through the fence more and with a view to cropping shots in Lightroom when I got home, which I am happy with, as I seemed to get more variety and more shots I was happy with at the end of the day.

Historic Formula One

A great day yesterday at Donington Park. It's great in the modern day to be able to see some of the older Formula One cars still being used, and in some cases, being driven VERY fast. Only a short race for these cars, so only managed to shoot from the inside of Craner Curves, but still managed to get a couple of shots I was happy with.
