More from the Var

A few more shots from the Rallye yesterday

Rallye Du Var

A very early start (circa 0530 hours) took me over past St Tropez and deep into the Var for some late autumn Rally action. Great day, some epic cars and everybody really pushing the boat out to make up the seconds. Again, another asphalt rally, more of the same (how I wish for some dirt or dust) but thoroughly enjoyable. Watching a rally in late November in 22 degree heat and sunshine is something else, especially faced with the prospect of a day snowboarding tomorrow. Exciting times.
Not had much chance to process any from the day, but here are a few for starters, including a great Renault Alpine in perfect nick.

Garden Hostage

Found this lizard hiding under a rock while I was working in the garden today. No idea of what sort he is, but he reluctantly agreed to pose for a few photos for me. I'm still not very sure of the settings I need for macro shots, hence the uber-shallow depth of field, but I am very happy with the sharpness of the eyes of at least one of the shots.

And finally one of the mystery lizard as he attempts to make a break for freedom over the gaps in the picnic bench....beached!

Life isn't Fair

A few shots with the newly repaired 50mm f1.4, down at the fair in Monaco, and a couple with the usual lenses.

A hostage from the garden. Now released after appeal.

Mushroom Season

Seems like the mushrooms are out in force in the south of France after the recent heavy rains. Here are a couple I have managed to get to in the daylight hours so far.
