Autumnal Buttermere

The last of the landscape shots from the Lake District. A few closer shots as the sun lit up the last of the leaves in the trees and gave rise to some beautiful reflections.

Buttermere

Probably the most beautiful of the Lakes I have visited in Cumbria. It was a shame that I couldn't stay for longer, as the light was nice on the hills, but didn't allow me to shoot the tall trees on the edge of the lake as I would have liked. I look forward to coming back here soon, and spending a day enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Pre-Dawn at Derwent Water

First stop on the trip to Cumbria was Ashness Jetty at Derwent Water. Despite a forecast of fog and cloud, I took the risk, which paid off nicely with some beautiful pastel colours before the sun made an appearance.

Grizedale Stages Rally

A trip over to Cumbria for the last proper motorsport event of 2013 for me. Some new stages to me, and some really good scenery. What started as a beautiful morning, turned into a very cloudy and dark afternoon, meaning using the full range of in-camera options.

Good Morning Cumbria

A trip over to the Lake District yesterday for the Grizedale Stages rally was combined with a beautiful sunrise at Derwent Water

Something a little different

A few alternative perspectives from the Premier Rally on Sunday. I haven't had the chance to shoot night rallying before, and was hoping for some brake disk glow, but unfortunately there was none.
Still, a little experimentation for the future

Premier Rally Second Batch

The next bunch from Sherwood Pines yesterday.

SA Gas Premier Rally

My second Sherwood Pines trip in 2013, and a far cry from the heat and dust of the Dukeries Rally back in early summer. Fortunately, the autumn colours were still resplendent, and some very well driven cars both in the Modern and Historic categories.
Car of the day certainly went to Bob Morgan in the Skoda Fabia, who made Sherwood Forest feel like Darfur with the anti lag booming around the stage.
Seemingly dark for most of the day, it was necessary to ramp up the ISO and hope for the best. A grand day out in Nottinghamshire.
