Dunstanburgh Castle

Making the most of some glorious sunshine after a snow filled morning, I took the opportunity to call at Dunstanburgh Castle and try a couple of long exposures. The light was a little too harsh for anything spectacular, but the ten-stopper helped to salvage the scene into a worthwhile end product.

National Glass Centre

Stumbled across the National Glass Centre at Sunderland, which has some very interesting architecture, which I need to revisit on a sunny day for some nice reflections.

Like a portal to another world, a little brook runs out of this old arch, in the hillside near Gunnerside.

Roseberry View

A couple of shots looking over the surrounding countryside. Taken from the top of Roseberry Topping. It was some of the first sun of the year, so I blew the highlights a little to expose the rays falling on the fields.

Castle Walk

I am sure there is a good angle to be found on Castle Walk in Richmond, but I am not sure that I have found it yet. This was an attempt one evening when having a stroll in the evening light.

Don't look up, or down!

A trip to Gateshead meant I had chance to visit the Baltic, which is now converted into an art gallery. Primarily noted for the views over the Tyne, I also found a couple of interesting perspectives inside the building. One which looked up the staircase to the mirrored ceiling. The other aspect, despite looking a little like a corridor, was actually taken looking up at the ceiling from inside the Baltic.

Malcolm Wilson Rally 2014

Despite the conditions not being as good as the previous year, a trip over to Cumbria for the Malcolm Wilson Rally was just as enjoyable. Firstly SS1 at Comb, which was a great stage, and one I hope to return to. The afternoon was taken up by a visit to Grizedale, though a hazy low cloud came in and somewhat spoilt the mountain backdrops. Still a very good day out, and it felt like the 2014 rally season had properly kicked off for me!!!
