Time Piece

Trying out a macro shot of my watch. With a touch of post processing in Silver Efex

Rallye Antibes

Pretty much the last rally of the year in the Alpes Maritimes. Didn't feel like I was hitting it off with the camera, so came away feeling a bit disappointed with the lack of good shots I got. Here are a few of the best from the weekend

Nomad

Found a great new sculpture on the ramparts of Antibes Harbour. Completed in 2010, it stands proud on the headland. Was an interesting subject to photograph, if a bit bizarre.

Dilbar

Took a walk around Antibes Harbour, and couldn't resist a couple of shots of the superyacht Dilbar, which was lit up spectacularly.

Ten Stop Antibes

Treated myself to a B&W 10 stop filter. First time I had chance to try it out today, so took a trip to Antibes, along with a stop at Darty to treat myself again, this time to a new Manfrotto tripod.
Its going to take a while getting used to the exposure times, as these were purely guess work, but still, I am quite happy with the results so far

Dolceaqua

A small village across the border in Italy. Very harsh light when I was there, so I have experimented with a different style of processing on these. Very OTT, but something along these lines seemed to drag the best out of some otherwise washed out pictures.

Sospel Motorcycle road Racing

Another early start, after the trip to Italy yesterday. Got to the course for the bike racing way too early, and ended up waiting for over an hour for any action.
The tarmac was damp this morning, which led to a couple of fallers, and tentative riders throughout. After the first timed round, the course had dried and the action got a bit more feisty.
It was my first time shooting motorbikes, and it proved a bit tricky to get the settings right, plus I had to boost the ISO right up which led to quite noisy photos.
It was an enjoyable day though, and yet another great free motorsport event in the area. Fortunately I made it back to the car before the heavens opened, and arrived home just in time to watch the GP on tv.

Treelight

A few rays of the afternoon sun filtering down the river valley towards Olivetta San Michele. I liked the way the trees on the ridge caught the illumination.

Rallye San Remo

A few shots from today. Nothing mind blowing. Was really entertaining watching the cars, a real step up from most of the rallies around here. SO loud, and mindblowingly fast

Castel Vittorio

Came across a really good looking town heading in between stages of the Rally today. All the roads around it were hideous, but worth the trip for the view of this town alone.
