Sospel Motorcycle road Racing

Another early start, after the trip to Italy yesterday. Got to the course for the bike racing way too early, and ended up waiting for over an hour for any action.
The tarmac was damp this morning, which led to a couple of fallers, and tentative riders throughout. After the first timed round, the course had dried and the action got a bit more feisty.
It was my first time shooting motorbikes, and it proved a bit tricky to get the settings right, plus I had to boost the ISO right up which led to quite noisy photos.
It was an enjoyable day though, and yet another great free motorsport event in the area. Fortunately I made it back to the car before the heavens opened, and arrived home just in time to watch the GP on tv.

Treelight

A few rays of the afternoon sun filtering down the river valley towards Olivetta San Michele. I liked the way the trees on the ridge caught the illumination.

Rallye San Remo

A few shots from today. Nothing mind blowing. Was really entertaining watching the cars, a real step up from most of the rallies around here. SO loud, and mindblowingly fast

Castel Vittorio

Came across a really good looking town heading in between stages of the Rally today. All the roads around it were hideous, but worth the trip for the view of this town alone.

IRC Rallye San Remo

Took a drive over the border to San Remo, primarily for a scout round the Parc Ferme, but also to try and hunt down a really good pizza restaurant (and it was REALLY good).
All the cars are set up on the seafront in preparation for the start of the Rally tomorrow. A slight buzz in the air, but not enough to overwhelm the general chaos of Italy.
None of the traffic lights in the whole of San Remo were working. Italian traffic is usually pretty dire, but rush hour on a thursday evening, with no guiding lights, meant driving around was a real bag of snakes.
Anyway. Managed to get a programme and maps of the route, which should help out over the weekend. Some cars having a blast around the town later on, sounded pretty throaty. I look forward to seeing them giving it socks over the weekend.
Oh, and did I mention, the Pizza was EPIC

It wasn't too bad...

Being brought up on a diet of Ronseal adverts (It does exactly what it says on the tin). I don't quite know why I bought this.....
Obviously for the ho ho ho factor. However, it was a surprisingly pleasant bottle.

Reflections of Monaco

I was down in Monaco this morning, in the midst of the Monaco Classic Yacht Week. A bunch of beautiful classic yacht were clogging up the harbour. So much so, that it was impossible to isolate one yacht on its own for a photo.
The best I could manage was a couple of reflection shots which caught my eye as I was taking a coffee at the Yacht Club.

L'Authion

I thought the light may be good this evening, but it didn't really deliver. Am going to pay another visit when there is less cloud in the Mercantour, hopefully this week.
Nice tank though, but the Fort I went up to photograph wasn't visible through the cloud.

Eindhoven

Three random snapshots from Eindhoven

Amie Portraits

A few portraits I have tried over the past few months, definitely something I am going to work on in the near future, possible aided by some investment into flash.

English Summer Wedding

A few shots from the wedding of George & Rhianna at Orchardleigh House in Somerset. A great day even if i went a little too hard on the Rose and then Gin & Tonics.
