A few years ago, I had spent a little time walking North from Alnwick up the coast of Northumberland, and have great memories of the deserted picturesque beaches, headlands adorned with castles and beautiful countryside. I had not made it as far north as Bamburgh, but had been told that the castle there was one of the most picturesque on the whole coast. When the chance came to spend an evening there, I couldn't really resist.
Due to an overnighter in the car, I was able to spend both sunset and sunrise at Bamburgh, and despite getting my feet soaking wet, which left me on the verge of trenchfoot for the next 24 hours, had a great time and managed a few shots with which I was happy.
